New to Ham Radio? Contact the site with comments or questions. Original Mitsubishi 2SC Transistor?? See the below article. Kindly suggest and comment! Thanks and Regards Bobby.

Wise People get genuine parts at solid prices using good contacts Dataasheet wanted price to be lower than rfparts. Nothing great to tell something which everybody knows and wash off your hands! I got the parts.

Honest to john scs are nonobtainium.

2SC1971 or 2SC1972 RF Power Transistor?

What you get are scs, even though they are labeled s. Whether they work depends on the circuitry in question.

Datasheeh the way, production ended in Being in the same predicament you are in, I purchased a 2SC from the ebay site you listed above. I too, refuse to pay RF Parts’ “market prices” just to keep a boat anchor on the air.

Sure, it’s sad in a way, to see the parts go obsolete before the device they are inside of does — but that is what planned obsolecense is all about. Sorta like us under our brand new gubment “health”care But that is for another thread. Anyhoo, I’ll datssheet you know if the smoke leaks out of the xatasheet 2SC I just ordered it yesterday.

Well, i am pretty sure that the ones listed on the above ebay link are fake. Luckily i got these from one of my old college friend who works for Mitsubishi. Having a very difficult repair of a TSS, it uses a 2SC as a predriver, and the transistor is failed. My biasing seems ok, but I have destroyed three replacement ‘s from East Coast. I notice the original had a narrower case than the replacement, there was very little space around the PCB, I had to carefully dremel out some of the PCB.

Still looking for a proper replacement. You know, people who will repair their own gear to either save a buck or because there is no support for it, like me, and turn around and whine about the cost of discontinued parts make me scratch my head. I guess they’d sooner let the equipment sit around for five years and develop bad electrolytic capacitors from dis-use rather than spend a few extra dollars now.

I’m betting these are the datadheet folks that ignore a little knock the engine in their car makes when they start it, then wonder where that big hole in the crankcase came from later. I had a major problem obtaining 2sc’s.

Datashset “original” package was slightly more slender than aso I carefully machined out the excess circuit board without disturbing any traces. Installed the new transistor, and I let the smoke out of the new part, cracking the transistor between base and emitter, along with other components. Trying again, same issue, I was measuring a base-collector short. I ensured my package was isolated from chassis using mica and plastic shoulder washer.

Thankfully it has an “original” 2SC, slender casing. I replaced the transistor in the with it, and it works great. Never learned what the part difference was, I noticed there were inconsistencies between lead assignment in mitsubishi’s data sheet vs. The PCB layout and schematic matched the mitsubishi datasheet.

Might be worth finding an old GXV for a few bucks if you have a The V is a crummy radio, no tears seeing it scrapped. Lightest heatsink I have ever seen. Interesting that the 2SC was discontinued inand then used on the IC and others past Not calling you out on this Alan, but why do manufacturers keep such radios in production after pre-drivers, finals, etc.

If you have a clumsy child, you make them wear a helmet. If you have death prone children, you keep a few clones of them in your lab. Powered by SMF 1. December 14, December 15, December 21, December 22, December 23, January 01, January 02, January 05, February 06, February 07, ,
