Carlie is a teacher and hides herself in frumpy, baggy clothing. Tyler fills in for Jason in helping Carlie with a elementary school program for troubled kids and he starts to notice her as a woman.
And Goster is doing everything she can to avoid anything other than friendship. It was fun to watch Tyler fall for Carlie but I did feel bad for him when he finds out the truth. He impdtuous some right to feel like being made a fool. I purchased this Kindle when I saw it was one of the most purchased Kindles in I was looking for something light that I wouldn’t have to get too wrapped up in.
However, I didn’t get around to reading it for a few weeks and by the time I did, I’d forgotten what it was about. I started it on a Sunday evening around 7: To say I got hooked would be an understatment! My kids were talking to me and I didn’t even hear them. My pulse was racing while I was reading that initial scene in the pool house. I’m not used to reading “romance” novels. I usually go for other genres in my books – ,ori or mystery with some romance thrown in.
So this was definitely more descriptive in the love making than I’m used to. I was sort of shocked but I couldn’t stop reading! I had to drag myself away from it to try to be a good mom and put my kids to bed. But the moment I had them tucked in and kissed goodnight I was back at the reading. I literally sat there and read this book imppetuous I finished it at 3: So much for a book that I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in!! I liked how they both had pre-conceived ideas about one another and then they realized how wrong they were after getting to know each other.
I thought parts were funny, other parts very romantic and other parts just plain HOT!
Admittedly, Carlie’s character started to get on my nerves when she wouldn’t let Tyler back in imptuous he was practically begging her forgiveness and pouring his heart out to her. But I can understand the author’s desire to drag out the finale a bit longer and give the book a more dramatic ending. And, I did enjoy the ending very much. It was a good read and even though I was dragging through work on Monday, I still found myself smiling and probably blushing when I would think of some part in the book the next day.
Maybe I should read romance books more often! One person found this helpful. This story is about a rather reclusive school teacher, Carlie, who shies away from ever experiencing another man in her life after a demoralizing relationship with her ex-husband. She goes to extremes in hiding herself from any attention from the opposite sex by dressing in the frumpiest clothes imaginable. Until this one night when her best friend, Bren, coaxes her to go to a Halloween party; Bren also selects her costume, which coster a rather revealing harem costume.
Upon arriving, Carlie is not comfortable at the party in her attire so she escapes to the pool house. Unbeknownst to her, Carlie is followed by Bren’s brother-in-law, Tyler, who had spotted her at the party and was curious.
Tyler is a well-to-do businessman, gorgeous as all get out, and has gotten just about any women he wants. So, when he enters the pool house, he definitely knows what he wants with Carlie. They have known of each other for quite some time he being her best friend’s brother-in-lawbut Tyler never gave Carlie a second look; therefore, he does not recognize her in her sexy costume and that revealing body of hers, but he knows he wants her badly.
After they lock impeyuous stares at each other, they enter into a hot body slammin’, sexual one-night-sexcapade. After their exhausted romp, Tyler falls asleep and Carlie abandons the pool house; never to be heard of again Throughout the story, Tyler is obsessed in trying to find his harem girl, but comes to a dead end each time.
In the meantime, he has agreed to step in for his brother to work at the after-school-program that just happens to be the same school Carlie teaches at. In fact, it’s her program that Tyler will be working at, and they will be forced to work side-by-side with each other. As you turn the pages, Tyler begins to become attracted to Carlie even though she still looks fostwr a bag lady.
But he has fallen for her personality, talents, sense of imeptuous, and smarts. As time goes on, he will give up looking for his harem girl, and he will try to persuade Carlie into spending time with him on a date-type level.
It will not be until the last act of the book that Tyler will find out that Carlie and his harem girl are one in the same; nevertheless, he has fallen head-over-heels for the Carlie he’s been with in his volunteer role, which will eventually turn into a wonderful happily-ever-after ending.
This was a lovely, warm romance with an ever so charming ending. I just loved the simplicity of the story from the intense, hot romance build up to an ever so sweet ending; everything one looks for in a romance novel but with a much gentler plot. Even though this book is a re-release of Lori Foster’s works, I found it refreshing and light.
Impetuous: One Wicked Weekend by Lori Foster
Something so different than her today’s novels which I lovebut you can definitely see her writing evolution. You need a little Romance every now and then. Geez, I was rolling my eyes as she kept that stick up her butt throughout the entire book.
I didn’t care for the way Tyler was thinking she was fat only to be so relieved and happy to find out that she was very lean.
That was actually pretty insulting and offensive and could’ve been bh out of the story. I’m impteuous looking for a romance novel with a particularly large woman as the main character, but come on, I didn’t really need to read how ecstatic the leading man was when he found out the woman he’s “falling” for is thin. I realize the descriptions for the women in these romance novels are always But for some reason unbeknownst to me, THIS description and the way it was written ofster peeved me.
Maybe I’m PMSed or maybe it really is written offensively. Not sure, but I didn’t really enjoy this story. But like I said, it was worth what I paid, it kept me busy reading for a while.
